Wellington College Tournament
On Wednesday, the U13 and U11 teams played in a rugby tournament hosted by Wellington College. Both teams were excellent ambassadors of the School. On the pitch they played with commitment and off it they conducted themselves impeccably. Thank you to Mr Irvine, Mr Williams and Mr Buck for taking the boys away and encouraging them and developing their skills throughout the day. Thank you to the parents and grandparents who travelled all the way and were a great support to staff and boys.

Achievements
On Monday, 23rd November, Libby Hawkins (Y7) and Tanaka Jalathge (Y7) performed at the Royal Albert Hall on the first night of the Music for Youth Proms 2015.  As violinists with the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust, they collaborated with the Cornwall Youth Orchestra and other musicians in a performance of ‘Prince Zal and the Simorgh’ – a new piece by composer David Bruce and writer Sally Pomme Clayton, based on a Persian (Iranian) folk story. Lili Howe (Y5) has been chosen to represent England in The Dance World Cup 2016 which takes place in Jersey in June 2016. She will perform 5 dances including a solo and duet.

Equestrian
On Sunday, Isabelle Thomas and Oliver Morris represented the equestrian team at the NSEA Grass Roots Regional Finals which they had qualified for earlier this year. In the 70cm class, both riders finished on 4 penalties, but in the 50cm, Isabelle rode a clear round, just to be out of the rosettes on timings.  In the 60cm class, we had qualified as a team of three, but Mark Stockdale was unable to be there, so Oliver stepped up to ride twice (once on a horse that he had first ridden only 10 minutes beforehand!).  Both the riders rode clear rounds and the team was placed 6th – an excellent result in a hotly contested class. Well done to Isabelle and Oliver.

DT Club
The DT pupils have been finishing off their key rings this week as well as being shown how to anneal Aluminium. The Acrylic key rings were sublimation printed with a graphic and glued to another layer to increase the strength. All of the outcomes were very well made and looked great. The next project will require the use of a blow torch and skills in metalwork to form an Aluminium bowl. The club is proving a great way of accessing the many wonderful areas of design technology. The students are a great bunch and are really getting a rounded DT set of skills and knowledge.
