Fiver Challenge
During the month of June, Year 6 are taking part in the Fiver Challenge, which is proving to be a great scheme with budding entrepreneurs creating, working on their sales pitch and selling their products. Today, at break time, pupils were given the opportunity to sell their items in School. Trading was brisk and all the stalls were busy with customers. Year 6 will be selling their products again next Tuesday at breaktimes after replenishing stocks over the weekend. Also, next week, one of the companies is holding a 'Movie Night' on Tuesday and Thursday from 4.10pm until 5.10pm in the Prep School meeting room. They will be showing the film 'Boxtrolls' in two parts. Entry to each viewing is £1 and a tuck shop will be available for pupils to buy sweet treats whilst watching. For more information, talk to Walter Elekima and Freddie Ivory.

Music Assembly
Music teacher, Andy Kershaw, is not only our brass teacher but he also plays historical instruments like the Serpent and the Ophicleide – your children will be able to tell you all about these. During assembly on Monday he and his colleague and fellow Serpent player, Phil Humphries, played and provided the pupils with some history about the instrument. Phil had driven up from Dorset especially to talk to the pupils.

WPSA
This evening is our Family Fun Evening where plenty of free entertainment has been organised by the WPSA. As well as all the inflatables and stalls, you will have the opportunity to see the 1st XI in action, fresh from the Brandeston Cricket Festival, where the Prep School cricketers won the tournament for the fourth consecutive year.

7NG Assembly
In this morning's assembly we were transported 30 years into the future with 7NG and Mr Grove in their time machine which has been hidden away in the drama cupboard for the past couple of years. We were given cause to think about our use of fossil fuel and the effects of global warming.  How could this affect our future selves and those around us?  This was balanced with a good sprinkling of humour, singing and superb character acting from Akaash Baiju, resplendent in a vivid green jacket. Thank you to the pupils and Mr Grove for entertaining us so comprehensively.

Music School
Club Music
All pupils who take instrumental or singing lessons at School or externally should be preparing a piece to perform to Mr Leutfeld or Mr Runnells in their music class, for Club Music.

All-Comers' Tea Time Recital
Our final tea-time recital of the year, on Monday 29th June, will feature singers and instrumentalists from all three Schools. This promises to be an exciting event, as it will be our first performance in the new Pod, above Costa Coffee. Drinks and refreshments will be served from 4.10pm, before the recital starts at 4.30pm. Please join us for a relaxing hour of musical delight!

ABRSM Exams
The ABRSM music exams will be held at School next week, on Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th June. Candidates should have received a letter with details of their exam time. There is also a schedule on the noticeboard in the Music School. Candidates should arrive 15 minutes before their exam start time, and must remember to bring their instrument, music and (if applicable) piano accompaniment music. We do not hold spare copies of music in the department.

Fiddle Fiesta
Our annual Fiddle Fiesta brings together string players across all three Schools, to perform together in one massed event. During Year 2, all pupils learn to play either violin or 'cello in their music lesson and the Fiddle Fiesta provides a platform to showcase their work. There will also be performances from the Prep School and Senior School String Groups and the Prep School String Quartet. We also invite players who take lessons outside school to join in and even encourage members of staff to dust off their instruments! This year's event is on Monday, 22nd June, in the Pre-Prep Hall. Players will gather in the Pre-Prep Hall at 1pm for a rehearsal, before the concert starts at 2.45pm. Family and friends are warmly invited to come along and support.

Family of Schools Day
Over the next few days, several Prep School instrumentalists will be invited to play at the Family of Schools Day on Saturday, 4th July.  Parents of those involved will soon be emailed with details.

Mr Leutfeld

1st Team Cricket Festival
What a day! The 1st XI won the Brandeston Hall cricket for the fourth time on the run beating Norwich School in the final. There were 50s for Adam Davies and Stephen Thompson in the final as we chased down a formidable total. The whole day was fantastic. Thank you to Mr Sales for his expertise.
